NAFEMS Appoints North American Representative
Glasgow
, UK, December 1st
2006 –
NAFEMS, The International Association for the Engineering Analysis
Community, has appointed a dedicated North American representative
to oversee the expansion of its activities in the USA and Canada.
Matthew Ladzinski will assist in the coordination of NAFEMS events
in USA and Canada, as well as acting as a local point of contact
for all North American members of NAFEMS.
Announcing the appointment, Tim Morris, NAFEMS CEO, commented “I am delighted to welcome Matt to the NAFEMS team. It is a
longstanding objective of NAFEMS to provide the North American
analysis community with a truly exceptional program of seminars,
workshops and courses over the coming years, and we believe that
this is an important step forward in enabling us to provide an even
more comprehensive service to North American analysts.”
NAFEMS already has a strong membership base in North America, with
major organizations such as Boeing, Hewlett-Packard, Rolls-Royce,
NASA and Harley Davidson supporting it’s activities. The
addition of local representation will enable these companies, and
many more, to leverage full benefit from their membership of
NAFEMS, as well as enjoying the additional networking benefits and
opportunities which will present themselves as the core membership
of the organization expands. “Matt’s role will be primarily to coordinate and
instigate a program of events and participation for the North
American analysis community,”
added Tim “ but the focus will also be on promoting the many benefits
of NAFEMS membership to all sizes of companies and institutions,
and on increasing awareness of our activities in the education and
training of engineers and analysts.”
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to focus my
marketing skills on further developing the business end of NAFEMS
in North America.”
, said Matthew, who has an M.B.A. from the University of North
Carolina, as well as a B.A. in Education from the same institution.
“I find this position to be an innovative way to work with
the leaders of the simulation community worldwide. I am proud to be
with an organization that is pioneering this area and providing
such benefit to its members.”
Working closely with NAFEMS HQ in Glasgow, UK, as well as with
NAFEMS representatives in Germany, France, Spain and Italy, Matthew
will provide a local point of contact for all North American NAFEMS
Members. “This is an important move forward in the expansion of our
activities in the USA and Canada.”
commented David Quinn, Marketing Communications at NAFEMS. “Whilst NAFEMS has been offering a well-supported seminar
program in North America over the past few years, this appointment
will see a significant increase in our activities in the region,
and will allow us to provide even more benefits to our members in
the US and Canada.”
NAFEMS is an independent not-for-profit body with the sole aim of
promoting the effective use of engineering simulation methods such
as finite element analysis, multibody system dynamics and
computational fluid dynamics. The North American chapter of NAFEMS
was re-launched in 2003, and since then, nine meetings have been
held in the USA, including the 2003 NAFEMS World Congress which was
held in Orlando, Florida, and attracted over 150 participants. In
2007, the NAFEMS World Congress will be held in Vancouver, Canada.
NAFEMS currently has regional chapters in the UK, Italy, Germany
(including Austria and Switzerland), the Nordic region (Norway,
Sweden, Denmark and Finland), France and Iberia (Spain and
Portugal). Regional chapters assist in coordinating local
activities such as seminars and courses, as well as being the first
point of contact for NAFEMS members in that region.
