NAFEMS UK Conference 2008 - Final Call for Papers
An opportunity to present at the leading independent event for
engineering analysis
NAFEMS, The International Association for the Engineering Analysis
Community, is inviting papers for its 2008 UK Conference, to be
held in Cheltenham on June 10th-11th 2008.
NAFEMS is an independent not-for-profit body with the sole aim of
promoting the effective use of engineering simulation methods such
as finite element analysis, multibody system dynamics and
computational fluid dynamics.
Following on from the success of the previous event, held in 2006,
the NAFEMS UK Conference 2008 will be the country’s premier
conference on Simulation Technology for the Engineering Analysis
Community. Co-sponsored by the IMechE and the Institute of Physics
Stress and Vibration Group, it will bring together leading
industrial practitioners, consultancies, academic researchers and
software developers with a common interest in engineering analysis.
This two day conference will cover the current best practices and
state-of-the-art in FEA and CFD and associated technologies,
providing attendees with the most comprehensive overview of the
technology available.
The conference aims to increase awareness and provide a discussion
forum for topics that are important and relevant to engineering
industrialists and academics.
Held at the Cheltenham Park Hotel in the centre of Cheltenham, the
NAFEMS UK Conference 2008 is readily accessible.
Conference Themes
Presentations are sought which will provide case studies
illustrating the effective use of simulation for a particular
application. Presentations from all areas of simulation can be
submitted and will be considered for acceptance. However preference
will be given to contributions which highlight one or more of the
themes given below. It is expected that there will be parallel
sessions devoted to Computational Fluid Dynamics as well as
structural analysis. The conference themes will be:
- Simulation Quality, Verification and Validation
- Innovative Applications of Simulation
- Integration of Simulation into the Overall Design Process
Further detail on each of these themes is available at the conference website.
Submission of Presentations
In the first instance, abstracts of 300-600 words should be
submitted for consideration by 31st December 2007. Abstracts must
be clearly marked with author's name, organisation, address, fax,
phone numbers and email address. E-mail your abstract to uk2008@nafems.org
.
Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be asked to prepare an
extended abstract (typically 2-4 pages) and a PowerPoint
presentation. Full written papers will not be required.
Who Should Attend?
The conference will be of interest to analysts, engineers, team
leaders and managers that have a responsibility for ensuring that a
fit-for-purpose engineering solution is obtained from the use of
modern simulation software.
The event is open to both members and non-members of NAFEMS.
Attendance is free for NAFEMS members, subject to sufficient
remaining seminar credits.
Sponsorship & Exhibition Opportunities
The UK Conference 2008 provides an excellent opportunity for
promotional and product / project awareness, and direct access to
technology leaders. A number of exhibition spaces will be available
for vendors of software, hardware and associated services to
demonstrate their wares and meet with delegates.
Sponsorship packages are also available. Please visit the conference webpages
to enquire further about these opportunities.
