NAFEMS Manufacturing Process Simulation - Metals Focus Group

The NAFEMS Manufacturing Process Simulation Working Group launched in February 2016. The group has grown significantly and currently has around 40 members from all parts of the globe. Due to the need to develop process specific best practice guidance information, three focus groups have been formed each specialising in a particular material or manufacturing process.

The Metals Focus Group Chaired by Trevor Dutton met for the fourth time in January. The group aims to promote best practice simulation methods for all manner of metal manufacturing processes, by clarifying the potential benefits, addressing the technical challenges and providing sources of information. The group area already hard at work developing guidance material with a “What is Material Characterisation” in development.
