The Education and Training Working Group (ETWG) is responsible for accrediting all training courses run by NAFEMS. The ETWG develop and maintain a formal accreditation procedure. As part of the accreditation process the feedback from all NAFEMS Training courses is reviewed by the ETWG. Course Accreditation is the strongest form of training course review that is undertaken. A pdf file describing the "NAFEMS Accredited" Training Course Approval Process and all relevant documentation can be downloaded below.
"NAFEMS Accredited" Training Course Approval Procedure
This procedure is applicable to all code-dependent training courses with a connection to an engineering analysis software vendor. This procedure is only available to current NAFEMS members.
While it is expected that the training course will teach attendees how to use a particular software code it should be noted that “NAFEMS Recognition” is awarded on the strength of the PSE competencies that are addressed by the course. A pdf file describing the "NAFEMS Recognised" Training Course Approval Process and all relevant documentation can be downloaded below.
"NAFEMS Recognised" Training Course Approval Procedure
NAFEMS recognizes that it has a role to play in working with Universities and other course providers, to help define and deliver the competencies required in the engineering analysis and simulation area.
The Education and Training Working Group ‘Module Approval Scheme’ has been created to address this need. The approval scheme is based on the competencies defined in the core Finite Element Analysis and core Computational Fluid Dynamics technical areas of the NAFEMS Professional Simulation Engineer Scheme.
The 'Module Approval Scheme' is aimed at approval as opposed to a more rigorous 'Accreditation' process. A word document describing the "NAFEMS Approved" Academic Module Approval Procedure can be downloaded below.
