Allen Sheldon is a seasoned engineering leader with 28 years at Honda, currently serving as a Chief Engineer and Division Director at the Honda Research Institute’s 99P Labs in Columbus, Ohio. The work he leads at 99P is deeply rooted in collaborative innovation, partnering closely with leading academic institutions to bridge research to real-world application. In his own research, he leads advanced initiatives focused on next-generation computational design tools and the development of digital twin models for manufacturing and mobility systems.
Prior to his current role, he played a key part in industry-academia partnerships, including the founding and growth of the SIMCenter at The Ohio State University. Earlier in his career, he specialized in modeling and simulation for automotive product development, with a focus on crashworthiness and structural design optimization.
He holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
