Erin Berry

Erin E. Berry is a principal engineer at Collins Aerospace, where she has made significant contributions since 2001. With experience in dynamics and mechanical power conversion, she has worked extensively on commercial, military, and space platforms, utilising her broad knowledge of rotor dynamics, vibration analysis, and system prognostics. She is known as a business expert in lateral bending and torsional critical speed models, and she has trained Collins employees on these themes.

Erin's hands-on experience includes engine testing, hydraulic resonance troubleshooting, shaker testing, and structural vibration analysis, where she has helped diagnose system flaws and drive improvements. She has played an important role in establishing FAA certification test plans, post-failure analysis, and quality improvement activities, as well as implementing cost-saving techniques and streamlining supplier connections.

In addition to her technical contributions, Erin regularly supports mid-level and entry-level engineers through professional development programs. The Girl Scouts of the USA recognised her nationally for her leadership in STEM education, and she has been a driving force in STEM outreach. Hundreds of young women who are interested in engineering have been impacted by the extensive outreach programs she has planned as a founding member of the Rock River Valley Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

Erin holds a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University. Her influence as a technical specialist and an advocate for women in engineering is demonstrated by the many honours she has earned, such as the SWE local Engaged Advocate Award and Collins Aerospace's Phenomenal Woman Award.
