NAFEMS Russia Symposium

In May, NAFEMS held its first event in Russia. Over forty engineers and researchers met together on May 7, 2007 in St. Petersburg in the St. Petersburg Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The meeting was convened by Mr. Nikolay Rychkov of BaltEnergoProject Ltd.

The symposium was split into two parts. In the morning Dr. Ptchelintsev and Tim Morris led a discussion about the NAFEMS organisation. In the afternoon, delegates presented their experiences, and debated the future of the use of simulation in Russia.

The Symposium was attended by leading Russian distributors EMT-R (ANSYS), MSC.Software, Tesis (ABAQUS), Dassault Systemes Russia (CATIA), expert analysis of Finite STU (CompMechLab), SIC "Stadio" (ASTRA-NOVA developer), NTP "Dynamics and Strength" (developer Zenit-95), GK-Tehstroy, "Heksa, Sigma-tehnologiya", as well as many other organizations.
