In this session, we will discuss "quantum computing" for simulation specialists and designers who are new to the topic. Quantum computing is the frontier of computation. It leverages the laws of quantum mechanics to solve complex problems more efficiently than classical computers. It uses "qubits," which, unlike classical bits ("0" or "1"), can represent multiple states simultaneously, enabling unprecedented parallelism and acceleration. For engineers working in HPC, FEA, or CFD, quantum computing could become a crucial tool for advanced simulations.

In our digital forum, we will cover both the basics and application cases to answer the question: can "quantum computing" provide tangible benefits? What are the future prospects?

Graduated in Physics, with over 30 years of experience in the CAE field, starting from the Fiat Research Center to managerial positions at CD-adapco / Siemens. Specialized in CFD, he approached the world of Artificial Intelligence in 2020 and the latest developments with spin-offs from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, focusing on predictive models based on neural networks. These models enable engineers to test and optimize design ideas in real time.

Giulio Malinverno

Aerospace engineer specializing in numerical simulations for the verification of thermo-fluid dynamic and mechanical systems across various sectors, including aerospace, oil & gas, and power. Member of several professional associations such as IMechE, RAeS, and SAE. NAFEMS Professional Simulation Engineer.
