Best Practice & Standards for using 'Synthetic Environments' to Complement Experimental Testing

In mid-2022, NAFEMS carried out a report on behalf of DSTL (the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) to investigate whether numerical modelling capabilities such as Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics/Hydrocodes can be used to generate synthetic environments for defence applications. A summary of the full report will shortly be available to NAFEMS members – this article provides an insight into the key findings.

This article appeared in the April 2023 Issue of BENCHMARK.
