As one of the keynotes at the NAFEMS World Congress 2019 in Quebec City,Vicki Pope gave a fascinating presentation on the advances that have beenmade in climate and weather modelling. As the topic of weather and climate is so broad, there was little time within Prof. Pope’s presentation to discuss the full range of issues, including climate change. We asked Vicki to develop these topics in this article, which we are delighted to publish in this issue of benchmark.
