This paper on "Web Based Training Environment for Engineering Simulation" was presented at the NAFEMS World Congress on The Evolution of Product Simulation From Established Methods to Virtual Testing & Prototyping - 24-28 April 2001, The Grand Hotel, Lake Como, Italy.
This paper describes an EC funded project known as MOPLE which is developing a web based training environment for engineering simulation. The barriers to the use of simulation technology are briefly considered and put in the context of the need for time and cost efficient training resources. The proposed architecture of the MOPLE system is described in outline form. The paper finishes with a discussion on some possible future developments for the technology.
