This paper on "Automation of Engineering Analysis" was presented at the International Conference on Quality Assurance and Standards in Finite Element Analysis - 13-15 May 1987, The Grand Hotel, Brighton.
The requirements for the automation of engineering analysis and the associated quality control problems are discussed. The finite element approach is analysed in detail and a number of problems identified. A more attractive approach based on the boundary element technique is proposed.
