Summary

This paper concerns the training and education of users of FE codes in advanced nonlinear applications, in which the solution reliability and accuracy of the FE solutions must be carefully checked. The syllabus and structure of a new nonlinear FE course approved by NAFEMS and the accreditation procedure are outlined.
