Application of J-Integral in the Analysis of Welded Constructions

This paper on "Application of J-Integral in the Analysis of Welded Constructions" was presented at the NAFEMS World Congress on Design, Simulation & Optimisation: Reliability & Applicability of Computational Methods - 9-11 April 1997, Stuttgart, Germany.

Summary

The modified two-parametrical criterion in the terms of J-integral is offered as criterion of destruction on a moment of a crack growth of fractures. The universal analytical dependences for energetic J-integral in joint welded constructions with the crack defects, which are made by unilateral and bilateral welding, are obtained in terms of the finite element method and methods of rational design of experiments. The methods of the practical use of the parametrical characteristics of a fracture (Jc and JR-curves) are shown on specific examples.
