Investigation and Designing of Multi-Storey Building with a Skeleton of Steel-Pipe-Concrete Elements

This paper on "Investigation and Designing of Multi-Storey Building with a Skeleton of Steel-Pipe-Concrete Elements" was presented at the NAFEMS World Congress on Design, Simulation & Optimisation: Reliability & Applicability of Computational Methods - 9-11 April 1997, Stuttgart, Germany.

Introduction to Paper

A novel skeleton system of multi-storey buildings on the basis of the use of thin walled steel pipes filled with concrete (SPC - elements) was worked out at the Research Institute of Building Constructions.
The efficiency of the skeleton system of SPC-elements is achieved due to the rational combination of technological and structural qualities which exhibit the novel SPC-structures in comparison with traditional steel and reinforced concrete structures.
