This paper on "NAAS-Class-System for Nonlinear Analysis and Synthesis of Complicated Large Advanced Space Structures" was presented at the NAFEMS World Congress on Design, Simulation & Optimisation: Reliability & Applicability of Computational Methods - 9-11 April 1997, Stuttgart, Germany.
The present author has published the series of the papers concerning the foundations of the large program system WDKM [7, 8, 9, 17, 18]. In contemporary civil engineering there are applied very often different structural carrying large systems as: pure trusses, frames, tension structures - cable, bar-cable (tensegrity) and other mixed - composite systems. It concerns a carrying skeleton of buildings or roofs of large span - barel vaults and domes. These programs are oriented on such bar structures in elastic range. NAAS-CLASS is new extended version of WDKM program system for PC. There are described also some simplest programs, which in nearest future will play a part of subroutines in larger program systems as mentioned WDKM, or NAAS-CLASS. They all together will enable some kinds of analyses, but also synthesis - automatic dimensioning of the structures composed of numerous composite bars (CB), and at last a shape- and form-finding.
