This paper on "A Review of Some Analytical and Experimental Modal Model Correlation" was presented at the NAFEMS World Congress on Effective Engineering Analysis - 25-28 April 1999, Newport, Rhode Island, USA.
This paper provides an overview of some of the work performed over the past decade in the area of model reduction, model expansion and modal model correlation for the development of structural dynamic models.
Several new approaches have been developed over the past several years for the correlation of analytical and experimental modal models. Some of the common problems encountered in the development of an appropriate reduced analytical model for the correlation studies are discussed along with inherent problems typically encountered in correlation with experimental data.
