Resource Abstract
The requirements in terms of sensing accuracy and the evolution of road safety legislation directly impact the development of perception sensors. In this paper, we present how a combination of 3D electromagnetic physics simulation, real-time scenario, sensor processing simulation and dynamic connection to ADAS software can be implemented to fulfil advanced sensor simulation. The challenges to lift for testing the development of new optical and electromagnetic sensors and processing software to support early detection of hazards and collision avoidance is addressed. The study illustrated in the following can be applied to any type of ADAS function and autonomous vehicles development. The Car-To-Car-Rear-Braking (CCRB) Euro-NCAP testing scenario is shown and the simulation results are discussed.
