Modelling & Simulation supporting Certification in the Aerostructures Domain

Modelling & Simulation supporting Certification in the Aerostructures Domain

Summary

First, a brief introduction to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will be given. The main part of the presentation will address several aspects and examples related to modelling & simulation activities in the aerostructures domain that are performed to support the showing of compliance to airworthiness requirements. Topics such as test versus analysis, verification, validation, and errors & uncertainties will be discussed, all of which are related to achieving the necessary level of credibility when performing simulations.
