The NAFEMS UK Conference 2008 was held at the Barcelo
Cheltenham Park Hotel in Gloucestershire on 10th & 11th June
2008. Entitled Engineering Simulation: Effective Use and Best
Practices, the Conference gave delegates an unrivalled
independent insight into the current best practices and
state-of-the-art in FEA and CFD and associated technologies,
providing the most comprehensive overview of the technology
available.
The two-day conference aimed to increase awareness and provided a
discussion forum for topics that are important and relevant to
engineering industrialists and academics. With this in mind, an outstanding agenda
was available to enable all who attend to gain an invaluable
insight into the current "hot topics" and best practices in the
simulation world.
The event was open to both members and non-members of NAFEMS, with
members attending the event for free, as part of their membership
benefits package.
The principal sponsor of the Conference was Icon CFD. Further
sponsorship came from Acusim Software, Altair Engineering, Bull,
Simulia, DEM Solutions, ITI Transcendata, MSC.Software and
Siemens, and the conference was also supported by IMechE, IOP, BSSM
and FAM.
